Our contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

The United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) describe the major challenges that we face to ensure a sustainable, peaceful, prosperous, and equitable life on earth for all.

It forms the basis of Hitachi Rail’s idea of sustainability: to offer an integrated and sustainable mobility ecosystem, capable of contributing to the achievement of prosperity and quality of life in balance with natural capital.

We know that the role of rail transport is crucial in achieving the goals of decarbonisation and in bringing people, territories, and relationships closer together for social and economic well-being.
