Be part of a smarter, safer, and more sustainable railway future as our new QAM
At Hitachi Rail GTS Denmark, we’re proud to be at the forefront of delivering cutting-edge railway signalling and transportation solutions. We’ve been active in Denmark since 1991 and established our formal country office in Ballerup in 2015. Today, we serve as a strategic hub for the Nordic, working on some of the most ambitious rail projects in the area.
We are now looking for an experienced, collaborative, and solution-oriented Project Quality Manager to join our team.
As a trusted leader, you’ll be instrumental in setting realistic quality goals, fostering a culture of transparency and continuous improvement, and supporting stakeholders across teams to deliver success. You’ll be key in maintaining quality standards and ensuring compliance across our local activities.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As Project Quality Manager, you will:
- Lead, manage, and coordinate all quality activities within the Hitachi–Strukton Consortium for the Fjernbane West project, ensuring full alignment with contractual, regulatory, and stakeholder expectations.
- Maintain and implement the Project Quality Plan and deliver Quality Management Reports (QMRs) in support of Safety Cases as per CENELEC standards.
- Serve as the primary quality interface with customers, national safety authorities (S-NoBo/S-ISA), and third parties.
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS), driving transformation, maturity, and digitalization initiatives across the programme.
- Plan and execute the Internal Audit Programme, supporting customer and external audits, and ensuring timely closure of findings with effective Root Cause Analysis.
- Track and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure quality maturity, and provide regular reporting to leadership for management reviews and risk prevention.
- Ensure adherence to ISO 9001, CENELEC standards (EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129), and relevant norms, regulations, and laws.
- Facilitate lessons-learned workshops and support capitalisation of knowledge across the project lifecycle.
- Lead Customer Satisfaction initiatives, including complaint handling, feedback analysis, improvement plans, and follow-up.
- Support internal training to enhance awareness, competencies, and compliance across project teams.
- Provide guidance to process owners, support change management, and maintain quality governance across interfaces with shared services and local teams.
What You Bring
We’re looking for someone who blends technical excellence, process discipline, and stakeholder empathy to ensure project success.
Your profile includes:
- A degree or higher education in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in quality or product assurance roles for large-scale infrastructure, signalling, or transportation systems.
- Working knowledge of CENELEC and ISO 9001 standards; experience with RAMS requirements is a strong plus.
- Certification as an ISO 9001 Lead Auditor and/or professional status from organizations such as CQI/IRCA, ASQ, or similar (preferred).
- Proficiency with digital QMS platforms, audit tools, and project collaboration systems (e.g. Relatics, SAP, JIRA).
- Strong professional project management skills and the ability to work autonomously in a complex consortium setup.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English (Danish is an advantage).
- A structured, analytical, and proactive mindset, with the ability to clearly interpret contracts and manage multiple stakeholders.
Your Mindset and Behaviours
We value people who:
- Build trust through transparency, accountability, and reliability.
- Translate project and business goals into practical quality strategies.
- Collaborate effectively across diverse teams and cultural environments.
- Drive continuous improvement and embrace complexity with resilience.
- Are committed to the safety, sustainability, and reliability of infrastructure that impacts thousands of lives every day.
