Firenze, Italy (Hybrid)JOB OBJECTIVE
The General Project Manager is the overall responsible for the Project and the Project results. He/She manages a project relevant to a Communication and Control Systems of a Metro assuring the achievement of all and each objectives (technical, operationally, economical, Financially and businesswise) within the defined schedule and budget and with expected level quality and safety, leading and managing the execution and implementation of the projects vis-à-vis with the Customers and in strict coordination with each “discipline” PM and the Company Functions. He/She is Responsible for the satisfactory completion of Contract with particular reference to quality, HSE, timescale, cost, resources and Employer satisfaction for ensuring successful implementation of the project and project objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for correct managing the Project, ensuring the predefined results on time and within budget and with expected level of Quality.
• Ensures full compliance with Safety Requirements and full implementation of the Safety Plan throughout the project in close cooperation with the Safety Manager.
• Define and develop the Customer relationship strategy: understand the client environment, determine the client’s interfaces and identify client responsibilities.
• Identify all and each project stakeholder, understand their environment and their influences and/or expectation on the projects, and then define a plan for manage each of them in the project interest (according - wherever possible - to a win-win approach).
• He/she plans and coordinates, interfacing with the team members and the company functions, activities and resources of the project for the fulfillment of the project objectives (milestones contract).
• He/she manages the contractual terms of the project.
• He/she organizes and plans the project with appropriate management tools (i.e. Primavera).
• He/she supervises and controls the production / product integration of project-related systems, which includes the entire supply chain of the specific activities of the project and its products, interfacing with suppliers and engineering.
• He/she check the progress of the project activities, in reference to the planned timetable.
• He/she monthly monitor the profit of the project and identify and implement (and/or assure the implementation) of the necessary action plans to maximize the profit.
• He/she supervises and monitors and through - the assigned PMs - coordinates and the validation and verification of the system both in the factory and on-site, in order to get the customer validation, and commissioning of the plant.
• He/she supervises, coordinates and supports the System Engineer and Customer Service during the commissioning phases, maintenance and warranty. He/she is supported by the Project Design Authority who report at project level to GPM.
• Support the preparation and validate the project Statement of Work (baseline): confirm the scope, contractual issues and validate risk assumptions.
• Establishes the project structure including the project management organization and project team organization.
• Set-up the project team and assign project roles and responsibilities to individuals
• He primarily manages the assigned PMs which are leading and managing part of the projects assigned to the GPM.
• Establishes internal targets in line with Contract requirement and expectations.
• Establish and implement the Project Management Plan (PMP).
• Approves the general organization procedures (including the PQP) and all contractual procedures to be reviewed and approved by the Employer.
• Approves processes and general procedures (including progress measurement and performance measurements procedures)
• Manages the project risks including contingency plans and risk mitigation.
• Defines the project key progress and performance indicators (schedule, budget, quality).
• Manages with the Employer all the activities related to Variation to Contractual Scope of Work.
• He/she represents the company and specifically the project in front of the customer assuring solutions purchased and the required results.
• He/she is focus in anticipation, especially in risks and opportunities management.
• Closes-out the project.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
• University Degree on Engineering (Electronic, Telecommunication or informatics) or with equal knowledge matured during the professional experience.
• Experience of at least 10 years as PM or GPM
• Experience of at least 5 years in projects relevant to Communication and Control systems
• Good technical background of the solutions concerning the Communications system, Control systems, Security systems, Passenger information comfort system used in the Metro or Railways environment.
• Optimal knowledge of Italian language
• Optimal knowledge of English language to daily works within foreign interlocutors and within international and multi-cultural contexts.
• Knowledge of Arabic language is a plus.
• Available to be located abroad for a medium/long term period (> 3 years)
• Available to Business Missions on worldwide basis.
• Job experience having worked (for a period not less than three years respectively) in two or more counties.
• High ability to manage team and resources not necessarily reporting hierarchically.
• Strong competencies in organization and coordination of multiple and remote-located teams.
• Autonomy, entrepreneurs and proactivity attitude and behaviors.
• Oriented to the Business and able to understand and Manage the Business (behind the Project itself)
• High seniority and long experience to manage project with high complexity and a very difficult contexts, with challenging targets, within a multicultural and international environment facing multi-disciplinary technical aspects and areas.
