Challenge
In response to growing demands, Thailand's rail network is modernizing its rolling stock with advanced onboard systems to improve service quality. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to modernize the country's rail infrastructure and support sustainable transport.
Solution
Hitachi Rail installed its onboard European Train Control System (ETCS) on 50 new locomotives from CRRC for the State Railway of Thailand (SRT). This project included modular product designs for flexible integration and future upgrades to higher ETCS levels.
